China Tourism Brochure

 Due:

Years 7A, 7B and 8 - Friday 4th May
Year 9 - Friday 11th May

Task: Design a tourism brochure for a destination in China. Your brochure must include information that a visitor to the area would expect. For example, a description of the place, places to see, activities to do, how to get there, and a survival word/phrase list.

Requirements:

  • You most certainly can use your computer to research and design your brochure, but the end product must take up a double sided A4 page. 
  • Choose a destination (city or region). For example, Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Tibet, Quanzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Fujian Provence, Xianjiang.
  • Research what makes this part of China unique, such as local history, food and customs, tourist sites (e.g. Terracotta Warriors, The Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Panda Conservation park)
  • How can you travel there? Which airlines / public transport is available (such as bullet trains).
  • A survival Chinese word / phrase list. What phrases would the traveller need to buy food, find a location, pay for a taxi/bus, etc?
  • Two maps - A map of the location and a map of where it is in China.
You will need to think of photos / visual images and the presentation of your work. A rubric for how this assessment will be marked will be posted on this site by Wednesday the 25th this week.
