Assessment task 1, Part 3 - Australian Curriculum Standards.

Hello again,

Below are the standards from the Australian Curriculum: Chinese that are covered by the first assessment task.

NB: With apologies to the Year 9's, I'm measuring all of the classes with the standards expected for the Year 7 & 8 band, where Year 7 is the entry point to the language. This is because all classes are beginners this year.


Informing
  • Locate and share with known audiences factual information about people, places and events ... ACLCHC083

Translating
  • Interpret common colloquial phrases and culturally specific practices from Chinese contexts into Australian contexts and vice versa, ... ACLCHC088

Systems of Language
  • Recognise the tone-syllable nature of the spoken language, ... and use Pinyin to support learning the spoken language. ACLCHU090

Cobram Anglican Grammar School: Chinese (Mandarin) Years 7/8/9 Chinese Assessment Task 1 – Term 3, 2018 Restaurant Conversation Task:  To present a conversation set in either a restaurant or a market place. Details: ·        The conversation must be between two people; a waiter and a customer, OR a buyer and a seller. The conversation must be in Chinese (Mandarin). ·        The conversation must go for about half a minute to a minute. ·        Each student writes their own script.
